Services offered include:
• Individual psychotherapy
• Marital and premarital counseling
• Adult assessment
While Dr. Minyard sees primarily adults, she will see some children and adolescents, if she feels that there is an appropriate “fit” between her skills and the particular child’s needs. Dr. Minyard’s approach to therapy is individualized, based upon each individual or couple’s needs. Rarely, in counseling, as in other areas of life, does “one size fit all.” Dr. Minyard strives to provide therapy that is tailored to your particular needs, and draws on a number of models or ways of thinking about how to help individuals and couples solve problems and make their lives, marriages, and other relationships better.
Specialties include, but are not limited to, counseling for:
• Relationship issues, including marriage counseling
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Trauma and abuse issues
• Grief issues
• Life circumstance issues
• Eating disorders
• Assistance with behavioral changes
• Individual psychotherapy as an adjunct to Beth Moore’s "Breaking Free" Bible Study
Payment Arrangements:
Dr. Minyard requires payment at the time of service, but is happy to provide the necessary documentation to file with your insurance company or flexible spending account.
Most insurance policies have some provision for mental health services, but you should know that some insurers do not cover marital therapy. Your insurance company is the best source of information regarding what services are covered and any restrictions on who may provide treatment in order for services to be covered. Some people choose to pay for services “out of pocket” to allow them greater flexibility in their choice of a therapist.
